Adolescents

Picture
My area of emphasis in graduate school was working with children, and I spent four years of my program in clinical placements focused on child and adolescent populations.

Adolescence is a period of profound exploration and development. Young people at this stage often challenge us to reflect on why we value the things we do, what shapes our identities, and how we make sense of the world around us. I greatly value the curiosity and perspective that adolescents bring to therapy—and I am always happy to hear their book and television  recommendations. They have provided me with endless hours of enjoyment.

While adolescents are sometimes viewed through a negative lens, my experience has been quite the opposite. I find them thoughtful, insightful, and endlessly interesting to work with. It is a privilege to support them as they navigate this important stage of life.

Grief and Loss

Picture
Everyone experiences grief differently, and my hope is to support you as you navigate that process. No matter the nature of the loss, you deserve the space to grieve in your own way. For some, that may mean needing time to rest and withdraw; for others, it may mean returning to work or daily routines more quickly. There is no single “right” way to grieve.

Having experienced loss in my own life, I understand how meaningful it can be to speak with someone who appreciates the complexity of grief. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your loss, process your emotions, and move through grief at your own pace.

Medical Professionals

Picture
Working with medical professionals has been one of the highlights of my professional career. Healthcare providers often carry immense responsibility while remaining deeply committed to the well-being of their patients and communities.

Through my work with physicians and medical residents, I have developed a deep respect for their dedication, resilience, and sense of purpose. I value the opportunity to support them as they navigate the unique pressures and demands of their profession.

Over time, I have found meaningful ways to connect with and build strong therapeutic relationships with medical professionals, creating a collaborative space that feels supportive and beneficial for everyone involved.

Mental Health Graduate Students

Picture
This specialty developed somewhat organically over time. During my postdoctoral training at Rose City Counseling Center in Pasadena, several graduate students from local programs were referred to me, and I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed working with this population.

Having gone through similar academic and professional training myself, I understand many of the unique pressures and experiences that graduate students face. This perspective allows me to connect with them in a meaningful way and to ask thoughtful questions that support deeper insight, self-awareness, and personal growth.
